What
is Stage Struck?
Stage
Struck is an Australian Theatrical Simulation. Within
it, students may create sound scapes, design sets and costumes,
direct scenes, and create productions. The simulation gives
one student working alone the opportunity of experience
the diverse roles of the director.
In
order to create work with the application, students will
need one or two days to play around with it. Once they have
had this opportunity, students should be able to create
a proposal for an independent directing project.

Activity
1 - Proposal and Assignment:
Students must create a written proposal for what they will create.
They will develop the digital director's binder, a series of files
created from within Stage Struck. The assignment must include:
an
initial proposal and mark scheme (out of 100), to be approved
by the teacher
3 developed interactions, including a performed scene
a written record of daily progress
a statement of overall vision for the production including
a style, a goal for audience reaction, and an evaluation of the
success of the project
Completed
assignments may be attached to e-mail or handed in on disk.
What
is the role of the teacher?
The teacher provides guidance in creating the mark scheme
and approves the proposal, but the project is an independent study.
The teacher assists when requested, particularity with technical
problems, and conducts a summative evaluation.
Instructional
Strategies: Simulation, Computer Assisted Instruction
Evaluation:
The categories and weight of marks in evaluation will be determined
by each individual student in consultation with the teacher.
